Vancouveria hexandra
Plant number: 1.536.050Closely related to the true Barrenwort (Epimedium) this is a species native from the Pacific northwest down into California. Plants form a low mound of fine-textured evergreen leaves, bearing airy sprays of white flowers above in late spring. The habit is clumping at first, but these will slowly spread to form a small patch. Although often recommended for dry shade conditions, these truly are happiest in a rich, moist woodland soil on the acidic side.
