Limonium ‘Blue Diamond’

Sea Lavender

USDA Zone: 6-9

Plant number: 1.320.040

Sea Lavender is most familiar as a cut flower, especially for drying. This selection forms a low mound or tuft of leathery olive-green leaves, bearing upright branching sprays of tiny papery mauve-blue flowers. Very tolerant of hot, dry sites once established. Flowers are attractive to butterflies. Requires excellent drainage during the winter months. Nice at the edge of a sunny border or in the rock garden. To dry, stems should be cut just as the flowers begin to open, and hung upside down in a warm, dark place. The exact nomenclature of this selection is not completely certain, but it may actually be Goniolimon incanum ‘Blue Diamond'.
