It will begin flowering with the first warm weather of summer and continue to flower heavily for several weeks, then rest during the strongest summer heat (intermittent blooms may still appear) before offering another big show in late summer and early fall. Plants do not usually require dividing for several years, but are easily split apart in fall or early spring. Spent flower stems can be trimmed back after flowers are finished.
