Helleborus × hybridus WJ Jade Star

Winter Jewels Hellebore

USDA Zone: 3-9

Plant number: 1.255.470

The Winter Jewels™ series of Lenten Rose are easy and colourful spring bloomers for the shade garden that have been hand-bred from only the best plants collected from around the globe. Plants produce bushy mounds of thick, leathery evergreen leaves. Flower stalks appear in early spring, bearing large, showy cup-shaped blooms. This unusual selection has single blooms of green, flushed and veined with maroon purple. Site these where they will stay for many years, since the plants resent being disturbed. Great in part shade. Trim the old leaves to the ground in late winter before the buds emerge, to allow the flowers maximum impact. Bred and introduced by Marietta O’Byrne of Oregon. CAUTION: Harmful if eaten/Skin irritant.
