Hakonechloa macra Fubuki™
Plant number: 8.190.180(='Briform') One of the most gorgeous of ornamental grasses, also one of the few that prefers shady sites. This forms a low mound of narrow leaves heavily striped with green and creamy white. It has a cascading habit almost like a waterfall. Foliage develops pink tones in the autumn. Slow to grow, but eventually makes a wonderful edging to a shady border. Perfect as a companion to Hosta or ferns, since all have similar requirements. May tolerate full sun in cool regions, in warm regions give at least afternoon shade or preferably all day dappled light. Recently introducted by Brigg’s Nursery of Washington state.
