Dianthus Scent First® Tickled Pink
Plant number: 1.181.220(=‘Devon PP11’) The Scent First® series of Border Pinks have just recently arrived from England and are known for their spicy fragrance, compact habit and long season of bloom. This selection forms a low cushion of grassy, grey-blue foliage topped with semi-double flowers featuring frilly, bright magenta-pink petals. An excellent addition to the sunny rock garden, alpine trough and for edging. Plants should be trimmed lightly after blooming to maintain their tight, compact mound. Evergreen. The flower petals of all types of Dianthus are edible. This series from Whetman Pinks, Ltd., UK, was the recipient of the Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit (AGM).
