Dianthus ‘Cherry Moon’

Border Pinks

USDA Zone: 3-9

Plant number: 1.180.430

Pinks are like miniature versions of the more familiar carnations. This British selection has gorgeous leaves and blooms. The foliage forms a grassy mound of evergreen leaves in a smoky grey-plum shade. Contrasting flowers appear in late spring, bright pink with a darker cherry eye, with a clove-like fragrance. Excellent addition to the sunny rock garden, alpine trough or for edging. Plants should be trimmed lightly after blooming to maintain a tight, compact mound. Not always easy to divide, but this can be attempted in spring or early fall.
