Plants form a dense mat of glossy evergreen leaves, the stems rooting along the ground. Light pink bell-shaped flowers appear in spring, followed by a showy display of scarlet berries. Foliage turns a beautiful bronzy-red in winter, particularly in colder regions. Best in a well-drained sandy to loam soil, this dislikes poorly-drained clay. Drought tolerant, once established.
