Primula ‘Blue Sapphire’

Double English Primrose

USDA Zone: 4-9

Plant number: 1.445.810

Double Primroses have been cherished in English cottage gardens for centuries. These nearly became extinct but are now available again, thanks to the miracles of modern laboratory cloning. They are easy to grow, and put on a tremendous show in the spring garden, their double rose-like flowers attracting comments from all who see them. Choose a moist, shady spot free from thirsty tree roots. ‘Blue Sapphire’ has rich, glowing medium-blue flowers with a hairline white edge. Blooms look almost like an African violet!! These should be divided every two to three years in early fall, to maintain vigour.
