Thalictrum flavum ‘Illuminator’
Yellow Meadow-rue |
USDA Zone: 3-9 |
Plant number: 1.513.210
Meadow-rue has beautiful lacy foliage a little bit like a Columbine or Maidenhair Fern in effect. In this selection the leaves emerge bright golden-yellow in spring, changing to powdery blue-grey for the summer. Cloud-like sprays of tiny lemon-yellow flowers are held on tall stems. Excellent for cutting. Despite the delicate appearance, this is fairly tolerant of warm, humid summers but prefers some afternoon shade. Plants are tall and narrow in habit, so staking is usually required. Clumps may be divided in early spring, but take a year or two to settle back in and reach a mature size.
