Paeonia rockii hybrids

Rock’s Tree Peony

USDA Zone: 5-9

Plant number: 1.407.990

Also known as Joseph Rock’s Peony. This shrubby selection forms woody stems that should not be pruned back each year. In mid to late spring it bears very large single blooms of white or soft-pink petals with a maroon base, surrounding a tuft of golden stamens. Said to be fragrant. Tolerates full sun in cool summer regions, otherwise give afternoon shade. Tree Peonies take up a fairly large area as they mature, so give this plenty of space. Avoid doing any pruning aside from removing any dead or broken branches in the spring.
