Alpine Perennial Flax

A compact form of the popular Blue Flax, this is perfect for the rock garden or for edging in a sunny, well-drained border. It forms a bushy mound or tuft of small, ferny green leaves, bearing loads of small soft-blue flowers for weeks on end. Trim plants back by half in midsummer to encourage repeat blooming in the autumn. Short-lived but usually will self seed in a gentle way. Drought tolerant once established. Particularly good for growing in a gravel garden or alpine scree. Said to be deer and rabbit resistant.
