Humulus lupulus ‘Aureus’

Golden Hops Vine

USDA Zone: 2-9

Plant number: 1.279.550

This is a gold-leaved selection of the Common Hops, which is widely used in flavoring beer. Plants form a climbing vine, quickly growing to cover a trellis or fence with a bright display of deeply-lobed golden-yellow leaves. Small cone-like clusters of green flowers appear in summer. Since this is herbaceous, the vines should be cut down to the ground in spring. Clumps may be easily divided in early spring. Quite popular as a foliage accent in the garden, particularly in cool-summer regions. Plants may benefit from part shade in warm areas. Rust or mildew are sometimes a problem.
