This species of Hellebore is the best known. Plants forms a sturdy clump of leathery, evergreen leaves. This strain has large cup-shaped white flowers that are said to be particularly early to appear, depending on the season. In mild winter regions it may indeed flower by Christmas. Will self sow where happy, and the seedlings can be moved to new locations while still small. All Hellebores resent being disturbed, so avoid moving or dividing mature plants if at all possible. CAUTION: Harmful if eaten/Skin irritant.
