Helenium ‘Rubinzwerg’
Fall Helenium |
USDA Zone: 4-9 |
Plant number: 1.245.470
('Rubinzwerg'= Ruby Dwarf) Also known as Helen's Flower, or Sneezeweed, there are many fine hybrid selections, valued for their late summer display of bright daisy-like flowers. This midsized German variety has petals of deep mahogany-scarlet, surrounding a button eye of brown to gold. Terrific for cutting. Stems may need to be staked to prevent flopping. Plants will also respond well to pinching, which simply means cutting the stems back by half in early to mid June to force more compact growth. Easily increased by dividing in spring, if desired.
