Delosperma floribundum Sequins

Ice Plant

USDA Zone: 6-9

Plant number: 1.173.140

(=‘Balosquin’) The hardy Ice Plants are native to dry areas in South Africa but are amazingly hardy in North America, provided they are grown in very well-drained soil. This selection forms a low mat of succulent evergreen leaves, bearing starry shiny rose-purple flowers with a large white eye almost the entire summer long. Makes an excellent groundcover for hot, dry slopes, and will tolerate poor sandy soil. Also nice growing in tubs and mixed containers, in the rock garden, or as an edging. In regions with wet soils in winter this will likely perform as an annual.
