Alcea rosea ‘Queeny Purple’

Hollyhock

USDA Zone: 2-9

Plant number: 1.030.980

A 2004 All America Award Winner, this compact Hollyhock selection is terrific for smaller gardens where the taller types might grow too big. The flowers are magenta-purple in colour with a pompom centre surrounded by a ring of larger fringed petals. Will flower the first year, so may be treated as an annual or grown as a short-lived perennial. Excellent in mixed tubs and containers. Control leaf rust with a fungicide spray every two weeks, starting in mid May.
