Sedum selskianum ‘Goldilocks’
Plant number: 1.485.670A Stonecrop native to the Amur River region of China and Russia, this has rarely been seen before in gardens. It forms a low rounded cushion or mound of narrow, hairy dark-green leaves. In late summer, taller red stems hold clusters of deep golden-yellow starry flowers that attract butterflies and bees. Nice in the rock garden, and small enough for an alpine trough. Also effective for edging in a sunny border or along a pathway. Somewhat similar to the Russian Stonecrop, Sedum kamtschaticum, this species is easily distinguished because the leaves, stems and even the flowers are hairy upon close inspection. Clumps are easily divided in the spring. Most likely hardy to Zone 3 or colder. Further details for |
