It forms a bushy, upright mound of green leaves, with interesting parasol-shaped blooms that have droopy yellow petals surrounding a brown cone. Plants flower in late summer and well into the autumn. A magnet to butterflies. Great for cutting. Best in average to moist soil and a sunny location. Seedheads may be left for winter interest if desired. Cut plants back to the ground in early spring.
