In early spring, upright purple stems hold sprays of small nodding green flowers, flushed with pink. Performs best in regions with a mild maritime climate. Gardeners in colder climates would be wise to mulch around the base of the clump with leaves in very late fall. Plants should be trimmed only right after blooming, if at all.
