Carex trifida ‘Rekohu Sunrise’
Plant number: 8.090.520This is the first-ever variegated form of the New Zealand native, Carex trifida with Rekohu being the Maori name for the remote Chatham Islands, east of southern New Zealand. Also known as Variegated Tataki Grass, this selection forms a large fountain-shaped, evergreen clump of broad green leaves with gold margins; chesnut coloured flower spikes appear midsummer. The underside of the leaves develop a slightly bluish haze when grown in bright light. Excellent in the sunny border, especially when massed, as a specimen and in containers.
